We’re a family from North Shropshire in the UK and are totally addicted to geocaching.
We started geocaching in October 2005 when we moved from Cheshire to rural Shropshire as we thought it would be a great way of getting to know the area we’d moved to. We quickly became totally addicted and myself (John / Dad) and Isaac (our 11 year old) go out caching at least once a week and sometimes more. Sarah (Mum) and Freya (our 9 year old) sometimes come caching too, but not as often.
We even choose where to go on holiday based on the cache density of the area (sad or what 
) and currently really like the Southern California area as the weather is fabulous and there are tons of caches to find. Oh, and there are plenty of touristy things to do as well .
For caching we use a Garmin Oregon 550t and Oregon 440t (both US versions with full USA Topo maps). We have numerous other prior GPS units we keep meaning to eBay but have not quite got round to yet.
We often get asked where our unusual caching name came from. Well, we live in an area called Bolas Heath and we’re not *that* religious, so The Bolas Heathens seemed like a perfect name for us 
.
I really enjoy reading your blog. I’ve never been to the UK so your photos show what a beautiful country it is.
I set up the Overton Oven earlier this year and noticed you visited.

We are a family in Stockport who only just found out about Geocaching a few days ago. We started in our local area and think it’s funny that every cache we have found so far has a photo of Isaac!
We live close to Bramhall Park so started there and hope to do some in Wigan near my grandparents – noticed you’d done some there too!
Hope to be as well travelled as you are by the time I’m 11!
